This exhibition celebrated the opening of the Transatlantic building after its restoration and aimed to publicize the Residencia de Estudiantes' spirit and activities in its new period. It began with a selection of works, mostly drawings and lithographs, by artists with strong ties to the Residencia, such as Federico García Lorca, Salvador Dalí, Maruja Mallo and José Moreno Villa, works that are part of the artistic heritage of the Residencia and the Federico García Lorca Fundation. There were also letters, photographs of residents, first editions of some works by the Generation of 27 writers, periodicals and original manuscripts, such as Lorca's Romancero Gitano and Poeta en Nueva York and José Moreno Villa's Jacinta la pelirroja. New and old drawings, blueprints, and models showed the architectural and urban development of the Colina de los Chopos (Hill of the Poplars), the side of the Residencia, over time, the history of the Transatlantic building and its remodeling process and its future use as the Residencia de Estudiantes' cultural center and archives. In conclusion, a series of informative panels, photographs, invitations, letters, and books offered a vision of what the Residencia de Estudiantes means today.
