In anticipation of the events surrounding the 150th anniversary of Antoni Gaudí's (1852-1926) birth, the Residencia presented this exhibition, a version of Espai Gaudí, a permanent show in La Pedrera (Barcelona), produced by the Fundació Caixa Catalunya.
This version included models, blueprints and photographs of Gaudí's buildings, audiovisual material and other items. It had an educational purpose, presenting the architect's life and professional career within historical and cultural contexts. Models with technical explanations helped the visitor understand Guadí's building techniques and reproduced some of his fundamental ideas, such as the estereofuniculares (stereostatic) structures. An audiovisual presentation showed the importance of color, texture and shape in his work.
One of the most significant elements in the exhibition was a series of photographs by Joaquim Gomis showing Gaudí's influence on other artists of the 20th century.
