The exhibition brought together some of the most significant works of this painter from 1928 to 1930, when one can observe her rapid evolution from her first paintings such as La tía Marieta, to the malicious, wise refinement of Tertulia, Familia cenando or Lilas y calavera, along with unknown works, such as the Retrato de María Álvarez, and the newly discovered Antonio, Conchita y Anita. The exhibit included Santos' portrait by Norah Borges painted in Los Angeles in the 1930s, along with material about her surroundings in Valladolid. Christopher Hall was present with his recently rediscovered Retrato de Jorge Guillén, and his portraits of the three Cossío brothers and Sinforiano Toro. There were also other little known works which had not been exhibited since the time they were painted, such as the Retrato de José María de Cossío, by Mariano de Cossío.
