This exhibition in remembrance of the 10th anniversary of José Caballero's (1916 -1991) death displayed a selection of works by this painter and illustrator from the last years of his life, many of which had never been shown before. This phase of Caballero's artistic career is characterized by the repetitive use of recurring signs and an enigmatic writing he created to recount his experiences during this creative period. The exhibition began with his last oil painting, Algo camina hacia el infinito. There were also other works, photographs and original documents from the family's archives kept by his widow, María Fernanda Thomas de Carranza. Many of the documents show Caballero's close friendship with Federico García Lorca and the university theater group, La Barraca, and his ties to the Residencia de Estudiantes.
