José Moreno Villa. Drawings and paintings 1923-1932
José Moreno Villa's persona and presence in the artistic and intellectual history of the first third of the 20th century in Spain grow stronger with the passing of time. This exhibition about the man who was a "tutor" and one of the most significant "spirits" of the Residencia de Estudiantes is part of the celebrations of its 100th anniversary and allows us to follow a rich and stimulating path through the different stages of Moreno Villa's art work. At the same time, the exhibition clearly shows the new paths opened by the modernity of the times, with movements such as new cubism and the lyric style, sometimes with a touch of automatism or personal surreal tones.
