The exhibition, a tribute to pianist Ricardo Viñes and his nephew, painter Hernando Viñes, recreated their lives and careers through their personal papers, most of them unpublished until then. Ricardo's biographical journey emphasized his prominence as interpreter of the avant-garde musical movement. Musical scores, concert programs, letters and photographs attested to his dedication to promote the most advanced music of his time. He maintained relationships with prominent Spanish and European avant-garde artists, such as Picasso, Léon-Paul Fargue, Max Jacob and Isidre Nonell. Additional documents showed Ricardo Viñes' activities as composer, teacher, musicologist, and poet.
On the other hand, the exhibition displayed 14 paintings by Hernando Viñes, provided by the Galería Theo and several private collections. These were works ranging from the 1920s to the 1980s, with landscapes and views of Madrid, illustrating the long and fruitful career of this painter and his relationship with the main art movements between wars.
