This exhibition explored the personal life and professional career of one of our most outstanding composers. Halffter was a prominent member of the Generation of 27 and the Grupo de Madrid.  He had ties to the Residencia de Estudiantes from his beginnings and befriended avant-garde artists, writers and musicians. He studied with Manuel de Falla and Maurice Ravel. Salvador Dalí designed the cover of some editions of his compositions. Federico García Lorca, Rafael Alberti, and Gerardo Diego dedicated poems to him. The exhibition included letters, musical scores and other original documents, as well as photographs of the performers with whom he worked, such as Claudio Arrau, Gaspar Cassadó, Teresa Berganza and Pilar Lorengar. There were also some of the films for which he wrote scores, such as Bambú (1945) and Historias de la radio (1955), by José Luis Sáenz de Heredia, and Don Quijote de la Mancha (1948), by Rafael Gil.
