This traveling exhibition, organized the Institut d'Estudis Catalans in 1997, followed the origins and history of this institution, founded in 1907, the same year as the Junta para Ampliación de Estudios. Both institutions shared a common spirit of modernization and made decisive contributions to the cultural and scientific development of the first third of the 20th century. The Residencia de Estudiantes, founded by the Junta in 1910, played an important role in the relationship with Catalan culture, establishing a lasting dialogue with its key figures. This exhibition was part of a series of events dedicated to Catalan culture organized by the Residencia de Estudiantes.
