This exhibition retraced the poetic and intellectual journey of a group of young writers who traveled to Seville in 1927 to commemorate the 300th anniversary of Góngora's death. The journey began with the affirmation of their admiration for Góngora and resulted in the recognition of the poets themselves during the events in Seville's Ateneo, where the "Generation of 27" earned its name.
¡Viva don Luis! reconstructed the preparations and development of that trip, and recreated the artistic and literary atmosphere of the moment through a selection of portraits of the participants by some of the best avant-garde painters, letters, manuscripts, first editions of the poets' books, photographs, and other items of unique artistic and historical interest.
